这套出版贸易英语系列教材从策划、选材、编写到交稿付梓已历时五个春秋，在此期间有相当一部分内容已成为我院英语专业的必修课教材，也作为国家新闻出版总署教育培训中心英语学习班讲义试用，而且还将继续使用。这种教学实践是检验我们编写工作的试金石，开阔了我们的思路，丰富了我们的素材，增添了我们的信心。

O'Connell."Alan controlled those meetings," she said."If he felt the editor was being too stern, he stepped in. He was our agent in a way. It was lovely. " The magazine editors appreciated Boon's loyalty, although it often got in the way. In 1953, J. D. Davidson wrote to Boon complaining about Sara Seale and other authors who did not take serial writing "seriously". "It seems to me a great loss of time and opportunity just to be content to hit or miss with a serial just because they know, in any case, that you will publish the book," Davidson said. "They ought to be made to feel the serial side is very important both for money and prestige and publicity. " Davidson tried, he told Boon, to convince Seale otherwise: "She thinks it is less wearing to write as she wants and just hope a serial comes out of it. That may be the right way for her, I don't know. But it seems a waste. " Boon, who was well versed in Seale's battles with the D. C. Thomson editors, joked to her in a letter, "I doubt whether after some of your recent experiences you will be impressed by his arguments.
