Though essentially still a medieval writer，Chaucer bore marks of humanism and anticipated a new era to come.As a forerunner of humanism，he praised man's energy，intellect，quick wit and love of life.His tales ex·D0sed and satirized the evils of his time.These tales attacked the degeneration of the noble，the heardessnessf the iudge.the corruption of the church and etc.
