版权页: 插图: Even the most formal paper can have a voice, the quality of prose that indicates the presence of a human speaker.Voice conveys your relationship or connection to the ideas you present.Voice is generally more pronounced in creative writing than in academic writing. In genres such as the personalessavl the writer’S voice may be used to divulge much of the meaning. For most research papers, you will not want to bring your personality into the foreground, but at the same time you need not expunge all evidence of your presence.Your voice can certainly convey your interest in and enthusiasm for your endeavor. You do not need to use first-person pronouns to give your papers a voice. most research papers should be written in the third person, that is,with nouns or third-person pronouns as subjects of sentences. Using a first-person pronoun(L me,my,or mine)to call attenfion to the fact that a statement is your opinion often weakens the assertion by implying un- certainty. The reader assumes that the statements in your paper、unless other- wise attributed, are your opinion and represent your point of view.At the same time, you should not use impersonal labels such as“the researcher”or“the writer.”
