Using that nervous energy to prepare for your interview will benefit you the most. Have a friend or family member help you practice for the interview. There are several web sites that offer practice interview questions that you can use to practice in front of the mirror or with a friend. Drive to the location ahead of time, so that you will know how long it will take to get there and where you can park. Have a copy of your resume and your outfit ready before the day of the interview. You will also want to get there at least fifteen minutes before your interview. 2 Take deep breaths. Taking a deep breath and releasing some of that nervous energy are a great way to help you relax on your way over to the interview. Remember that as you breathe in through your nose your abdomen will contract and as you breathe out of your mouth your abdomen will release. This is the proper way to breathe. 3 While you are waiting for your interview to begin, you want to distract yourself a bit from thinking nervous thoughts. The best way to do this is by reading your resume. This will help remind you of what you have accomplished in your previous jobs and why you feel you are qualified for the job. It will also serve as some last minute practice before you answer questions about your experience and education. 4 If you still have sweaty palms, don't worry about it. Have something in your pocket or purse to wipe your hands with before the interviewer walks over to you to shake your hand. Also, think about how great you will feel once the interview is over.
