For manyyears, Yu has been dedicated to the research ofjade ware and the dissemination of jade culture.Yu has published many books including One ofthe Origins of China's Civilizationm Hongshan Culture, A Complete Collection of UnearthedJade Ware in China and won the awards forbest books on cultural relics. Yu also publisheda dozen of essays and participated in theplanning for the seven-episode documentaryChina's Ancient Jade Culture of the CCTV.
