3.4Trade Terms and Price Clause in Sales Contracts销售合同中的贸易术语及价格条款
Trade terms do not only help to clarify the respective obligations of the seller and the buyer in international trade,but they are also important components of unit prices in sales contracts.The price clause of a sales contract usually includes both the unit price and the total price.The total price is the total amount of a deal.The price of commodities usually refers to the unit price.Generally speaking, the unit price of commodities consists of four necessary parts: types of currency, price per unit, measurement unit and trade terms.
Types of Currency币种
Since the change of the value of the selected currency may directly affect the financial interest, the buyer and the seller should choose the currency favorable to them during pricing.Generally speaking, hard currencies (e.g.,U.S.dollars, sterling,etc.)should be chosen for the exporter.
Price per Unit单位价格
When quoting an export price, the exporter should consider various costsand charges involved in delivering the goods from the factory or warehouse in his own country to the buyer's premises.Besides, the profit margin should also be taken into account when a price is quoted.
Measurement Unit计量单位
Because different systems of measurement and weight are adopted in different countries, the specified measurement unit should be mentioned.

As is stated above, trade terms play an important role in naming the exact point at which the ownership of the merchandise is transferred from the seller to the buyer.
